Residential Recycle Collection Guidelines
All residential recycle items must be placed on the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day, (Tuesdays only) in the proper recycle tub. Recycle tubs will be picked up one time per week on Tuesdays. First recycle collection day is Tuesday, January 6th, 2009
Collections are not considered missed until after 5:00 p.m. on your scheduled day.
Please call (317) 823-5334 or (800) 234-6881 if your recycle tub was not picked up or if you have any questions or concerns.
Republic Services of Indiana has provided you an 18-gallon recycling container for your separated recycling waste materials. Your efforts are critical to the success of curbside recycling in the Town of Speedway. Please be sure access is unobstructed for the recycling collectors on your scheduled day.
Acceptable Items:
- Aluminum and metal cans (labels do not have to be removed)
- All plastic that is marked with #1 or #2 in the recycling symbol (Please flatten 2 liter and gallon milk jugs)
- Bundled or tied newspapers
- Glass
- Cardboard - small bundles must fit inside the recycle tub
Unacceptable Items:
- Milk cartons
- Building materials or scrap metal
- Waxed paper
- Plastics other than products coded #1 or #2
Prepare Your Recycle Materials Properly
- Cans (rinse clean)
- Newspapers/Cardboard (place in paper bag or bundle)
- Flatten plastic milk and soda pop bottles to save space in your container
